The Brady Fire Department is a combination department located deep in the Heart of Texas, and is approximately 14 miles from the geographic center of Texas. Brady is a friendly, growing community of about 5,523. Brady covers approximately 9.18 square miles of McCulloch County, but the Brady Fire Dept. and Brady Volunteer Fire Dept. are also the primary response agencies for structure fires, rescue,and Emergency Medical Service responses for the entire 1073 square miles of the county (land and water).
The Brady Fire Department is a career department working three shifts of 2 firefighters , one basic EMT ,and one Paramedicon a 24/48 schedule. There is also 1 Chief and 1 fire fighter working 8-5 M-F. The members of the Brady Volunteer Fire Department are on call 24/7.
The Brady Volunteer Fire Department originated in 1907 due to the community realizing there was a greater need for fire protection than the volunteering citizens in the bucket brigade.
